Device authorisation is an important security feature. It prevents users from logging into the Evisense app from an unknown device.
Any device used by school staff to access Evisense using the Evisense app must be authorised by a B Squared administrator. Authorising the device is nice and easy, they simply need to log in to the Evisense app on that device.
Devices used by parents or students do not need to be authorised
This video gives an introduction to device authorisation. It also explains how administrators can authorise a device to use Evisense via My BSquared.
Below are written instructions to get devices authorised and device restrictions.
If a device needs to be authorised before it can be used by a school user, this means that device restriction is turned on
Authorising a Device #
- Take the device to any administrator and ask for the device to be authorised.
- The administrator authorises the device by logging in. Staff can now log in on that device.
Device restriction allows schools to control which devices are used. It can be turned off if required in My BSquared. By default, device restriction is switched on – this means that any device to be used with Evisense must be authorised by an administrator logging into the device first. Turning this option off will remove that level of security and will allow staff to use any device with the Evisense App.
Change the level of device security.
- In MyBSquared navigate to Evisense Options.
- Turn the Device Restriction Slider off/on
When turning off the device restriction, the below message will be displayed
Device Restriction is designed to enforce school mobile device use policies. By turning this off, teachers will be able to use the app on any mobile device.
