# Adding a new teaching, data or messaging group

### To add a new group

1. Navigate to **Manage Groups** in MyBSquared.
2. Click **Add New Group**.
3. In the **Create New Group** window enter:

- - Group name
  - Group Type: Select from Teaching, Data or Messaging

1. Click **Enter**.

**Note:** The Group Start Date is only applicable to Registration Groups and should always be backdated to the 1st of September of the academic school year.
